So the new memory stick speed will reduce to the 2133 speed and all should work. If you already have the Crucial 8GB DDR-4 2400 then it should be fine to Yes its safe and fine. The memory will also continue to run in dual channel mode as long as the matched sticks are in the correct memory slots.
